Patients are scheduled according to the nature and urgency of their eye condition. Office protocol is to schedule all appointments within two weeks or as requested by the referring physician. Self-referrals must have a history of retinal, macular, and/or vitreous problems. A copy of your ocular medical record isn’t required, but can be helpful.
If you already have an appointment, we are excited and look forward to seeing you and having you in our practice. We want to do everything possible in preparing you for your first visit with us.
Monday: Charleston/North Charleston Offices – 8:30AM to 5:00PM
Tuesday thru Thursday: Charleston – 8:30AM to 5:00PM
Friday: Hardiville – 8:30AM to 12:00PM
We ask that you be on time for your appointment, allowing Dr. King adequate time for your examination. If you are unable to keep your appointment, a 24-hour notice is required.
Your eyes will be dilated and special testing may need to be done, so plan to be with us for at least two hours. We will provide you with disposable sunglasses for your comfort, but ask that you make transportation arrangements if you find it difficult to drive after your eyes have been dilated. We welcome your spouse, family members, or a friend to join you during your visit with us.
Please bring your completed “new patient” forms on your first visit. These forms can be downloaded from the list of forms at the bottom of this page or we can mail them to you if you prefer. It is very important that you bring with you a list of all medications that you are currently taking, including any eye drops that you are using. At your initial visit, all insurance cards and a picture ID are required. Without these, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
If your insurance requires an authorization from your primary care physician, you are responsible to provide us with that form upon check-in. Deductibles and co-payments are your responsibility and will be collected at the time of your visit. If you are unsure of your insurance coverage, please contact our office prior to your appointment so that we can check for you.
Please see our web site’s Map and Directions if you are unfamiliar with our office location. If you have any questions or need assistance in preparing for your appointment, please Contact Us or call our office at 866-763-6491.
